Description: 

The role of the Project Manager is an administrative position reporting directly to the PMO Program Manager. The Project Manager manages, plans, and executes the implementation of various audio/visual, system integration, and information technology projects.  Oversees all technical and management aspects of the project from concept to completion. Works directly with senior engineers to ensure quality of design, systems, and applications meet the customer requirements.  Interfaces directly with customers and stakeholders in contracting, planning, procurement, documentation, and close-out deliverables. Creates tasks, milestones, reports, and deliverables within the integrated master schedule.  Oversees daily tasks of the technicians, integrators, and system administrators.  Provides input to Statements of Work, Request for Quotes, and other business development tasks.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads planning and/or implementation of projects.  May participate in the design and/or testing phases of the project.

  • Facilitates regular meetings with the stakeholders and project teams to track project status, tasks, milestones, deliverables, etc.

  • Monitors activities and resources to mitigate risk and any delays.

  • Solves problems and takes corrective action when problems arise.

  • Identifies and analyzes information system requirements and environment;

  • Coordinates and reviews analytical studies, cost-benefit analyses, and market research.

  • Analyzes business processes and contributes technical information for business process diagramming and data flow diagrams.

  • Monitors activities and resources to mitigate risk.

  • Review project proposals or plans to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing projects, staffing requirements and allotment of available departmental resources to various project phases. Establish work plan and staffing for each phase of projects and arrange for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.

  • Formulate and define technical scope and objectives of projects.

  • Confer with project staff to outline work plan and schedule.

  • Direct and coordinate activities of project personnel to ensure projects meet intended goals and objectives and progress on schedule and within budget.

  • Review status reports prepared by project personnel and modify schedules or plans as required.

  • Establish standards and procedures for project reporting and documentation.

  • Prepare project reports for management, clients or others.

  • Develop project strategies and plans, and identify the methods and tools required for the project.

  • Keep close, direct contact with key end-user representatives to ensure technologies are providing valuable information-sharing capabilities to customers.

  • Lead the effort in creative approaches to problem solving and quality deliverables supporting business needs and/or mission requirements. Collaborate with customers, clients and project teams, and staff in other business and IT functional areas.
