VTC Technician III

Job Location: Shaw AFB, SC

Security Clearance: Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance

 

Job Responsibilities:

C3EL is seeking an experienced VTC Technician III to support our on-site team at Shaw AFB, SC. The candidate shall provide maintenance, troubleshooting, and engineering support on all Government video teleconferencing system systems to include VTC bridge, conference rooms, and desktop systems.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide Theater VTC support (Shaw AFB).

    • Work closely with customer network engineers and other technical staff regarding technical planning, network design, bandwidth, and QoS considerations. Recommend network design changes and enhancements for improved system availability and performance.
       

    • Provide expertise and recommendations for future enhancements to the customer’s video conferencing capabilities, such as Multipoint Control Units (MCU) gateways, gatekeepers, system management, conference scheduling, Enterprise solutions, and collaborative technologies.
       

    • Perform hardware and software analysis to provide comparative data of performance characteristics and suitability within the existing environment.
       

    • Prepare technical documentation for the integration of new VTC technologies into the existing infrastructure.

  • Manage VTC operations and systems utilized by the Government.
     

    • Perform VTC scheduling as well as first-level technical assistance.
       

    • Maintain VTC schedules, including conference room reservations.
       

    • Install and operate VTC equipment to include: endpoints, gateways, gatekeepers, MCUs, and enterprise equipment.
       

  • Maintain current training on the VTC equipment and provide customer training on new installations.
     

    • Assist in engineering, planning, implementation, and project installation.
       

    • Research and procure VTC equipment when directed.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Lead level “hands-on” work experience in installing, repairing, and troubleshooting or maintenance of VTC bridge systems or equipment.

  • Must have the technical knowledge to solve complex problems, understand the interrelationships of circuits, and be able to exercise independent judgment in performing tasks in support of communications systems or equipment. Experience, to include: supervision, and shop practices.

  • Lead level experience in maintenance/troubleshooting of VTC systems or equipment as specified in the task order to include the following:

    •  Installation, operation, and upgrades for Telepresence Management Suite (TMS) Software

    •  Cisco devices including Codecs, Multipoint Control Units (MCU){MSE8000, Cisco Meeting Server (CMS), and Codian 53XX series.

    •  Cisco Network Enterprise Devices (Video Communications Server (VCS)-Control, VCS-Expressway, Expressway Core and Edge)

    •  Cisco Conference Room (CR) Codecs (C/SX/MX/Spark-Series)

    •  Cisco Desktops ( EX/DX series)

    •  Control Systems EXTRON/AMX/CRESTRON components

    •  CRESTRON and AMX Touch panel [interfaces] and associated software

    •  Audio subsystems (Amplifiers, mixers, microphone, and speaker systems)

    •  Media devices (e.g. DVD players, VCRs, etc.)

    •  Multimedia Display (e.g. Projectors, LCD, Plasma, LED displays, etc)

  •  Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance

 

Education:

  • High School Diploma 

Certification Requirements:

  • Must meet the certification requirement of DoD 8570.01-M, SPIN-C, or individual task order.
