Audiovisual Sales Engineer

Desired Certifications: AVIXA CTS-D, Certified Autodesk User: AutoCAD (preferred but not required)

Clearance Requirement: Active Secret (eligible for TS/SCI)

Description: 

Responsible for the design/engineering of audiovisual systems for clients and customers. Coordinates and interfaces with the sales team throughout the proposal process. Serves as the technical subject matter expert during the project proposal process. Creates project documentation required to support projects and deliverables including (bill of materials, flow diagrams, scopes of work, proposals, and requests for information, submittals and requests for change). Performs labor estimates, and work breakdown structures (WBS). Maintain comprehensive technical knowledge coupled with engineering and integration experience associated with business partners such as Cisco, Crestron, Extron, Biamp, Planar, Thinklogical etc. Experience with designing and engineering audiovisual over IP system using protocols such as: CobraNet, Dante, AVB. Experience with structured cabling solutions. Must be proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Office applications, Microsoft Visio

Responsibilities:

  • Design, engineering and drawing of audiovisual, video teleconference (VTC) systems and infrastructure.

  • Technical writing input for proposal, responses client requests and requirements

  • Engage in meaningful dialogue with the customer to determine the best solution

  • Create audiovisual documentation including audiovisual bill of materials, flow diagrams, scopes of work, proposals, and requests for information, submittals and requests for change.

  • Design and engineer large scale complex audiovisual systems

  • Engage and coordinate with clients, stakeholders, account managers, manufacturers, and colleagues to deliver audiovisual solutions.

  • Track the status of the project and the relevant contractual requirements including RFIs, submittals, changes and closeouts

  • Provide the client with technical support and system troubleshooting as needed

  • Perform site surveys as required

  • Maintain sales and status information in company’s CRM system

  • Creating labor basis of estimate

Qualifications and Work Requirements:

 

  • Eligible to attain DoD Security Clearance

  • 5-10 years of directly relevant experience in AV design including 1-2 years of field implementation experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferred but not required) in related job field

  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematics, and product specification manuals

  • Strong work ethic and excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Experience using Microsoft Office & Microsoft Teams

  • Excellent spatial visualization and problem-solving skills and the ability to evaluate situations utilizing logical and decisive reasoning

  • Solid organizational and relationship skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail

  • Demonstrate strong initiative and self-motivating traits

  • Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude in a fast-paced and occasionally high-pressure environment

  • Strong customer service skills with excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Team oriented and solid team player
