AV Network Technician - Stuttgart, Germany

The selected candidate will be a member of an international integration team supporting DOD systems integration worldwide.

 

Responsibilities: 

 

  • Supporting installations of large format display systems,

  • Builds standalone AV networks.

  • Coordination of provisioning new equipment on DOD networks.

  • Configures complex audiovisual and video teleconferencing equipment and systems.

  • Supports design efforts by researching products and building lists of materials.

  • Develops test documentation and performs systems tests.

 

Qualifications:​

The ideal candidate has a strong competence in DOD networks and is willing to learn audio/video/ and VTC integration. We will provide OJT and formal training for AV/VTC.

The job entails supporting the engineering team to develop project packages and deploys with the teams to build the systems.

 

  • Knowledgeable on Network Architecture technology

  • Experience with network devices (Router, Switch, Access Point, VPN Concentrator), and network services/applications (DHCP, DNS). 

  • Can identify and properly terminate industry used cable connectors (Copper — RJ-11, RJ-45, DB-9, F-connector, 66/100 blocks; Fiber — ST, SC, LC, MTRJ, FC).

  • Understand the differences and limitations of Cat5e, Cat6, Single-mode, and Multimode).

  • Understands network infrastructure implementations (WAN, MAN, LAN, WLAN).

  • Understands the basics of routing concepts and protocols (Loopback Interface, Routing loops, Routing Tables, Static vs dynamic routes, Distance vector routing protocols, hybrid routing protocols, link state routing protocols, routing metrics).

  • Understand industry standards, practices and network theory used in today’s information environments. (OSI layer, TCP/IP, Ethernet standards, Wiring Standards, Electrical Safety, Cable Management, Device Placement, Air Flow, Cable Trays, Rack Systems, Change Request, Change Management, Approval Process, Ports and Protocols).
